Any new experience, especially when it comes to your health, can be unnerving. We understand this may also apply to patients who are new to chiropractic and we will make every effort to make your first experience very comfortable. The Chiropractor will answer any questions you may have about chiropractic or our approach to non-invasive medical care and they will address any concerns you may have.
At your arrival at the clinic, one of our assistants will welcome you and ask you to complete a form and relax for a few minutes, maybe have a Tea or Coffee with a biscuit? Please allow 45min to 1 hour for your first visit.
You will then have a thorough case history taken which will not just be about your presenting complaint, but also about your general past and present health history. If chiropractic appears not to be suitable for you, you will be referred to your GP or the appropriate specialist. Your details are confidential and no one else will be able to see your notes without your permission.
A detailed examination of the neuromusculoskeletal system (nerves, muscles and skeleton) will be carried out in order to find the cause of your symptoms and make a diagnosis.
If we do not need x-rays, scans or further tests done, a treatment will be offered. Your Chiropractor will tell you what is causing your condition, often using visual aids to help you understand and visualise how your body is working. You will be advised as to how many treatments you will need and what the likely costs are likely to be.
